Let's do lunch

When I was younger I would hear people say, "let's do lunch". It sounded like such a magical thing. Meeting someone in the middle of the day to talk and catch up. I remember when I started saying it. Let's do lunch. And yes, it was as magical as I thought it would be!

I like the idea behind it. You do lunch with someone because you truly want to see that person. You want to catch up and engage in conversation, and if time and schedules permit, this meeting can extend late into the afternoon, even evenings. You meet them in broad daylight, so you can really see them. And when you leave, you feel that much more connected. No, it's not like breakfast or dinner. It's lunch.

And its truly something when afterwards you can say... That was good. Let's do it again sometime.
